December 22 is the winter solstice. All bhikkhunis and shamanis held the ritual of sweeping the ancestral pagoda and the ritual of worshiping the parents' pagoda in the main hall. The public first paid homage to the Ancestral Master Bodhisattvas, recited sutras and mantras and chanted holy names. During the recitation, the Sangha came out to offer flowers, pay three obeisances to the Ancestral Master Bodhisattvas, and expressed the wish to enlighten all sentient beings and achieve Buddhahood together. Afterward, a stick of incense was lit symbolizing heartfelt offerings to the ancestral spirits in the parents' pagoda. The assembly visualized Amitabha, recited sutra and mantra, and aspired to liberate their parents from the sufferings of the mundane world, guiding them to the blissful Pure Land in the west.After the ceremony, everyone dedicated their merits.
