2024.05.25 The completion of the 13th chapter of the ‘Abhidharmakośa’
On May 25th at 1 PM, Master Xian Gang led the Abhidharma-class students in hosting a tea party to summarize the completion of the 13th chapter of the ‘Abhidharmakośa’. The event included musical performances, sharing of insights from studying the Dharma, question and answer sessions, and a Q&A with the master. The event began with students showcasing their talents, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
During the sharing session, some students talked about the inner peace and sense of belonging they experienced while studying Buddhism in the monastery. Others mentioned how their virtuous (kuśala) seeds in their hearts were nurtured and grew through the teachings of venerable teachers and the practice of daily kind deeds. Additionally, some students reflected on their journey of deepening understanding and appreciation of Buddhism over the time from initially encountering sutras, reciting mantras, and reading scriptures to now studying the ‘Abhidharmakośa’.
In the interactive Q&A session, the master answered various questions posed by the students, further clarifying their doubts encountered while studying the ‘Abhidharmakośa’. The master encouraged everyone to continue diligently and persistently in their study of the ‘Abhidharmakośa’. She emphasized that studying the ‘Abhidharmakośa’ helps us understand and contemplate the characteristics of Dharma, establish the concepts of Buddhism, and enhance our comprehension of other sutras and treatises, thus making it significantly important for a deeper understanding of Buddhism.
